Shortlist: House Alteration and Addition under 200 square metres
Madeleine Blanchfield Architects for Queens Park House
To respect the heritage conservation area of this new home, we adopted a folded roof form derived from the existing slate roof’s angles. The abstract space created is reflected inside as a dramatic folded stair void. The remainder of the house is contemporary, light filled in contrast to the original.
