Shortlist: House Alteration and Addition under 200 square metres
A for Architecture for Valiant House
Valiant House is the transformation of an unrenovated workers cottage on a tight inner-city site. The addition was conceived as a large volume containing a central timber-wrapped box with hidden doors that conceal the utilitarian spaces. The connection to the garden is maximised along with a greater sense of space.
