Shortlist: House Alteration and Addition over 200 square metres
David Boyle Architect for Five Gardens House
Perched on a Middle Harbour headland, Five Gardens House establishes the landscape as a form and spatial generator. Arched ceilings float above a projecting concrete entry roof as if the volume of the adjacent rock outcrops has permeated the building form. Horizontal projections reach out and around a retained eucalypt.
