Shortlist: House Alteration and Addition under 200 square metres
ME for Carlyle Drive House
Rather than demolish or add, the principle design strategy was to extract parts of the existing built form to gain access to northern light and natural ventilation. This allowed the lower level - previously a dark and damp garage - to be occupied as living spaces and gardens.
